Welcome to the world of music!  I have been teaching piano for over 40 years. I also teach beginning guitar.  I am passionate about creating well rounded musicians and a love and appreciation for music and playing their instrument FOR LIFE. I believe in exposing students to many kinds of music and encouraging them to play many styles. My  favorite band is The Beatles (the greatest band EVER), and I also love any music-popular or classical- that is well-written with great melodies and harmonies.  I try to use these examples when teaching my students to compose their own music.

About the Studio

Conveniently located for students in both Fort Collins and Loveland, CO near the intersection of Trilby and Lemay.

Piano and guitar lessons are offered on a weekly basis at a time that we choose together for levels beginner through advanced.  I also offer fun music camps in the summer months (see section below about music camps) and 4 group lesson opportunities a year to allow students to learn, have fun, and play together.  Students are also offered opportunities to perform in events like Junior Festival and Achievement Day to help them grow even more.  I like to encourage my students to go Christmas Caroling with me and to attend as many live performances as possible.

As an incentive, I use a point and reward system for students who want to participate.

MUSIC CAMPS

I have co-written 5 themed music camp curriculums with my former piano teacher, Hunter Moncure.  These camps immerse the students in the theme being studied and allow students to learn with many varied experiences.  The themes currently available are:  Haydn and Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, The History of the Beatles, and The History of Rock and Roll. These teacher's manuals (complete with lesson plans) and student workbooks have been used and endorsed by many other music teachers throughout the US and are available for purchase through this website (see page on Music History Camp Series) or on our Facebook page:
